*edit*I think i've finally got this one to a solid place, not quite perfect but after printing it I have to say it looks good. *edit*

There are endless ways to show your love, endless ways perhaps for some to love, endless people that one can love. There are moments when we who capture the world are blessed to be where we are at the right moment to capture something profound. While this photo MAY speak a 1000 words. The reality of what happened speaks more....

The Tern which in this shot is flying, came to his mate with a fish, she mouthed it a couple times but then hopped off and let him eat it. They sat and talked for a while preening and enjoying the relative warmth. Then with the speed and agility that only a Tern can show he dove off his rock a short distance to the left of this image, and caught a bug in its beak. Then he flew back around and handed his love the token he had grabbed for her. I was lucky to witness the event and truly blessed to get this capture.

It makes me stop and wonder for a moment at those that say animals cannot have human emotions.

It is probably my favorite Tern shot to date... not sure how I would manage to ever repeat it. :)

you would repeat it with luck in timing and applying your skills as you did this time.:)

Well said and well photographed. Love the outstretched wings and the delicate hovering and delivery of the morsel to his mate. Do you shoot on continuous mode to get the amazing action photos of the birds, or do you just have a very quick and precise shutter finger? :giggle:
